Over the weekend I saw Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland. Not only was the film fantastic but the costume design was a-maz-ing! My eyes were watering at every change of thread Alice went through from scene to scene. Costume designer Colleen Atwood had actress Mia Wasikowska looking as if at any moment she might leave this "Wonderland" and go to the runway where she belonged. I was so inspired by the cuts cinched at the waist, the lace and the ruffles and the lovely fingerless gloves. It was all so yum. If you have no desire to see this film, at least go see it for the fashion. Images from the film are minimal but here's a little taste.

Project Runway Season 7: Episode 2

Congrats to Jay! I love his winning look. This week the show challenged the contestants to make party look out of a potato sack. I thought most of the contestants did a fabulous job and I totally agree with Heidi, Nina and Michael that Jay took the cake. Sad to say Miss Pamela did deserve the right to go home after making her model look like 20 lbs overweight. That is a fashion No, No. I will only wear clothes that make me look thin and feel fabulous! Even though her dye job on the garment was beautiful, making a design unflattering is unforgivable. Auf Wiedersehen.

I have been a fan of the beautiful Dominican actress, Miss Zoe Saldana, way before Pirates of the Caribbean and Avatar. She had me at Center Stage. Now the actress is reaching super stardom and has been looking amazing at every red carpet event. I am blown away by her classic ladylike style. Her street style is very simple but chic and when she steps out for an event she puts on the glam with sequins, shine and sexy heels. Zoe was quoted in an issue of Women's Health saying, "I love wearing men's clothing and underwear. I just feel so sexy in jeans and a man's shirt. Plus I love black, red. I love solid colors that say 'I'm here; I'm strong.'". As the new face of Avon, the star is on her way to becoming the next celebrity trend setter.

She is not afraid of color, texture and prints and she displays this by mixing them all together in one look. This Madewell Denim jacket paired with a Katy Rodriguez dress is one of my favorites. Madonna is the new face of the Spring 2010 Dolce and Gabbana campaign. The trendsetting icon will be featured in the campaign as a domesticated diva cooking and cleaning. While being photographed doing her daily duties Madonna sported D&G cardigans, tight skirts, and leopard print print sweaters. She is looking sexy as ever and the designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana said, “To have Madonna in our campaign is a dream come true”. The photo shoot will premiere in the upcoming issue of Italian Vogue.

The economy is slowly making its way back up but our pocket books are still waiting to be filled. In the mean time we all still need to get our fashion fix. I have been shopping, as usual, and I got some great deals!! I got 2 pairs of leggings in Purple and Gray at Forever 21 and a striped t-shirt to go under my black cardigans and blazers. For only $19.99, I snagged the Zebra Print BDG Silk Top from Urban Outfitters that I had been pining for in my previous post. Express was selling cute little bracelets for $10 bux so I picked one up for myself while getting my brother's Xmas gift. Gap scored me the best deal and I got the softest scarf today for $10 bux instead of the usual $25 it costs when its not on sale.

I know this is old news but my busy body just watched it last night on my DVR. And I have to say Carol Hannah and Althea showed lackluster collections. Irina deserved to win. I was gasping at those sweaters and the models dripping in leather. I think Miss Irina will have a voice in the fashion industry and I am excited to see what she comes out with.

Best Dressed for me was Kate Hudson.

I am sorry but Leona Lewis was the worst dressed.

The performances last night contained some killer clad celebrities.

Carrie Underwood was glowing and gorgeous during her performance of Cowboy Casanova.

Rihanna was sexy and fashion forward as always in a peekaboo, skintight jumpsuit.

I thought the Sofia Vergara, co-star on Modern Family, looked stunning last night.

Angels Hit the Runway Again

The Victoria Secret Angels were in full effect last night in New York City as they shot the brand's infamous runway show. Heidi Klum, Alessandra Ambrosio, Marisa Miller and Adriana Lima strutted their stuff in the usual ruffles and frills and big angel wings. Fergie performed on the show but Usher was the nights leading man as he also performed for the Angels. The show is set to air on CBS December 1st at 10pm.
